With a varied international career in media, travel, hospitality and digital transformation, he enjoys building successful brands and developing winning teams.

He is the Executive Chairman of Lío Group, the international luxury group where fine dining and a unique show combine perfectly for an incredible experience, with venues in Ibiza, Majorca, London and Mykonos. Julio is the Founder & CEO of BeBeMe, wine merchants extraordinaire, with unique wine bar and shops located in London. And he is the Chairman of Mercato Metropolitano, London’s first Sustainable Community Market with 5 locations in the city and expanding internationally.

Separately, Julio acts as an investor and/or board advisor to a handful of businesses globally, including Soleado, Trilantic Capital, L Catterton, LifeX Ventures, Floe, Audicus, Roasting Plant Coffee, and Cervantes Theatre where he serves as Chairman of the charity.

Previously, he was Chief Executive of Time Out Group plc – a leading global media and hospitality business. During his tenure Julio listed the company in the London Stock Exchange (AIM:TMO) and spearheaded the global expansion of the Time Out Market food hall division to many cities from New York to Dubai, becoming the global benchmark for premium food halls with over 10 million visitors in 2019. He also led the digital transformation of the iconic Time Out media brand around the world. Prior to that, Julio held senior global roles at TripAdvisor, Travelport, Regus, and Diageo, among others. More recently he was Board Director of Pacha Group -a global entertainment and luxury hospitality platform- and Board Director of Goiko, the top gourmet hamburger chain from Spain.

A native of Spain, Julio was awarded the ‘Order of Civil Merit of Spain – Officer’s Cross’, which recognises outstanding service by Spanish and foreign citizens for the benefit of Spain. As an advocate for Diversity & Inclusion he has been named in the 2021 HERoes Advocate Executive list celebrating the top 35 global leaders who are championing and advocating for women in the workplace; Top 50 EMpower Advocate Executive 2021 list of global leaders championing and advocating for ethnic minorities; and Top 100 OUTstanding LGBT+ Role Model global list 2021. In 2022 he launched his podcast, The Internationalist, which questions what it means to be a global citizen in the modern age, with guests such as Anthony Scaramucci, Peter Tatchell, or Gina Miller. In September of 2022 Julio published his first book “Passion to Lead”, getting to number 1 in Amazon UK and Spain in business books.

As an international executive and brand builder, Julio has been lucky enough to have his work featured in publications including CNBC, the Financial Times, BBC, Expansión, La Nueva España, El Pais, and Sky News. In 2021 he was awarded ‘Business Leader of the Year – Consumer Media’ by Campaign UK.
